Lead Campus Pastor- West End - Houston

River Pointe Community Church

Houston, TX

Full-time

Job description

Lead Campus Pastor– West End - Houston

River Pointe Church

The Lead Pastor at West End is responsible for the overall ministry, spiritual growth, and effectiveness of the West End campus.  The position reports to the Senior Pastor, and leads the campus staff and volunteers as the person whom people see as their leader and in charge of the West End mission.  This position requires proactive forward thinking, great relational skills, good communication, and lots of energy to shape and lead the mission to reach the surrounding community.  This campus is one of three permanent homes committed to reaching our communities for Christ.

Outward Focus: The primary target of the mission are those outside the faith, and the Lead Pastor sets the tone for effective evangelism. This is accomplished, in part, by building a receptive culture, being relational, and leading the people of West End to care about their friends who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Lead Pastor is the “keeper of the culture” making sure the outsider is accepted, welcomed, and connected with the fellowship. River Pointe wants Believers to grow deep in their faith, so they will love God with all their heart and love the outsider unconditionally.

Other: The Lead Pastor manages the campus operational budget and understands how to run the day-to-day operation of the mission.  The operational load includes ensuring the high quality of the overall Sunday experience, staff development, ministry calendar, facilities management (in conjunction with our facilities department), and staying connected with River Pointe philosophy of ministry.  The Lead Pastor is responsible for leading staff well and handling all personnel issues on the campus.  The Lead Pastor ensures West End doesn’t operate independently of River Pointe, but in harmony, as 1 church in 3 locations.

The Lead Pastor at West End is expected to preach at the campus regularly and, depending on skill level, to be on the teaching team at RPC.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or masters degree, in Biblical training, preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in ministry with a track record of growth.
  • Self-motivated, self-sustained, with an ability to work independently.
  • Inherent desire and demonstrated ability to grow a ministry or organization.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach and lead staff and volunteers in a growing environment.
  • Proven ability to act quickly, adapt, solve problems, and effect change in a fast-paced culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to create environments and events that outsiders love to attend.
