Job Summary:

The Design-Build Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of design-build projects, from initial concept to completion. This role requires leadership and project management skills to ensure that projects meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives. The Design-Build Project Manager will work closely with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project success while maintaining high standards of performance and compliance. A Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for this role.

Essential Functions:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee the development of project plans and timelines, aligning project objectives with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

Design Management:

  • Review engineering and architectural designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Work with design teams to identify and resolve any issues during the design phase and ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure that the design integrates energy-efficient, sustainable, and innovative solutions.

Construction Oversight:

  • Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design documents and quality standards.
  • Monitor job sites regularly to verify work is being done according to plan and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.

Client Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Ensure client expectations are met and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between clients, contractors, or project teams.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

  • Lead project teams, providing guidance and ensure all members are aligned with project goals.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members effectively.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and ensure that the team is well-equipped to handle project demands.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Address unforeseen issues that arise during the project and adjust project plans as needed.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure projects meet all applicable laws, codes, and industry standards, including energy and environmental regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports and financial updates to senior management and clients.

Qualifications Education and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design-build project management, particularly in the construction or energy services industries.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects and teams.
  • Licensed Mechanical PE in the state of Florida is required
  • Valid Driver's license is required
  • Superior verbal and written skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate at all levels.
