OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

WTXF TV is seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves ensuring the seamless operation of our 24/7/365 television broadcast by performing daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving across all equipment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of systems, including Automated Master Control Systems, Automated Production Control Rooms, Studio Production equipment, Camera Control Systems, Robotic Pedestals, Remote Production ENG equipment, Newsroom Video Playback and Archive solutions, non-linear edit systems, and satellite distribution systems. Experience in a Technical Operations Center is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance and repairs on broadcast equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted broadcast operations.

  • Maintain and repair systems such as Automated Master Control, Production Control Rooms, Studio Production equipment, and more.

  • Assist in the design, construction, and commissioning of new technologies at the Studio, Transmitter, and Remote Facilities.

  • Collaborate with team members to support operational needs and enhance system performance.

  • Familiarity with Grass Valley ITX, Sony switchers and ELC, Ross Robotics, Bit Central Playout is beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in TV Engineering, with a strong IT background and knowledge of Virtual Machine Environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with station staff.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends is a must.
