Full-Time Right of Way Crewman Trainee
Blue Ridge Mountain EMC - Young Harris, GA 30582
Blue Ridge Mountain EMC is seeking a motivated Full-Time Right of Way Crewman Trainee to join our team in Young Harris, GA. This is a hands-on, onsite opportunity to start a rewarding career in the electric utility industry while making a direct impact in the community.
As a trainee, you will work under direct supervision while learning essential skills to maintain existing and new electric line rights-of-way. Duties include cutting, trimming, and removing trees and vegetation, operating chainsaws and brush chippers, grinding debris for disposal, and climbing trees to trim limbs and install ropes for controlled tree removal. Safety, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are essential to success in this role.
What We're Looking For
  • Ability to safely operate and perform routine maintenance on chainsaws and brush chippers
  • Ability to operate a bucket truck
  • Willingness to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Willingness to learn, attend training, and pursue continuous self-development
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid CDL (or ability to obtain) with a strong driving record
