Job description

Overview:

$16.90 / hour

Knott's Scary Farm is seeking individuals who are calm under pressure, observant, and are able to stay alert and responsive. Blackouts are essential to the safe and seamless operations of Knott's Scary Farm Venues. This position supports Knott's Scary Farm Talent, monitors guest flow, and help uphold safety and shows quality of the experience. This role is compensated at the rate of $16.90. Please be advised that this position ends on October 31st, which is the last day of this year's Knott's Scary Farm event.

Age requirement: 18+ 


Responsibilities:
  • Maintains safety in mazes and attractions.
  • Assists supervisors and guests with standard exiting procedures.
  • Answers guests' questions; give directions; keeps guests moving in an orderly, forward manner; and provide a safe and friendly controlled environment.
  • Adheres to and enforces safety guidelines with guest in Halloween attractions.
  • Cleans and maintains interior of attraction and queue.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Availability to work all assigned Scary Farm training and event dates that include weekday/weekends nights and holidays.
    Knott's Scary Farm event dates are as follows*:
    • (September)  17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 27
    • (October)  1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31
      *Event dates are subject to change
  • Must be able to work with employees and guests in a positive, productive, and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure and diffuse tense situations such as disagreement with talent, being excessively scared and attraction closures.
  • Candidates should be able to comfortably stand for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to be exposed to entertainment special effects such as, but not limited to, loud noises, fog and strobing lights.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
