What Is a Bench Jeweler?
As a Bench Jeweler, you design and create jewelry from various types of metal, precious and semi-precious stones, and other materials using specialized tools. Your job duties include taking special orders from customers, stonesetting, drawing up designs for new jewelry pieces, and repairing broken or damaged jewelry pieces. You’ll use a variety of techniques to design and create jewelry, such as soldering and casting—creating a wax pattern of a design to make a plaster mold, then melting the wax out and filling the mold with melted gold or another metal to form a piece of jewelry.

- Customer service minded individuals with a high standard for quality work
- Basic computer skills
- Varying hours including some nights and weekends
- Full-time consists of a 40-hour work week with seasonal required overtime
