Job description

The Bert Nash Center (BNC) is seeking an innovative and collaborative Medical Director to author the next chapter of their pioneering crisis intervention center, the Treatment & Recovery Center (TRC) -
Located within the greater Kansas City area (Lawrence, KS - Home of the University of Kansas Jayhawks!), BNC is the designated community mental health center & the certified community behavioral health clinic for Douglas County. The TRC, seen by stakeholders as a "beacon in the community", provides crisis care through urgent care, treatment, and recovery 24/7, 365 days a year.
Medical Director of TRC - Crisis Intervention:
•50% or more Administrative, Monday-Friday
•Will lead a multidisciplinary team, shape clinical and operational excellence, and serve as a visible steward for mental health in the community
•Will have the "pen" to help define what crisis care can be, not just for today, but for years to come
•Provides leadership within the center and also across the community, educating stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and helping set a new standard for care
•Collaborates closely with Chief Medical Officer and executive leadership to align the culture and direction of the TRC with the overall mission of The Bert Nash Center.
The ideal candidate:
•Board-certified physician (psychiatry or primary care preferred)
•Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, with formal leadership experience and/or training preferred
•Demonstrates humility, vision, and ability to listen and lead
•Thrives in complexity, values teamwork, and is ready for the responsibility and privilege of shaping a new model of care.
