Job description

We are looking for experienced Project Managers who have a go getter mentality and will take on the management of key client projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. The Project Manager runs the day-to-day construction operations in conjunction with the Site Superintendent and controls the short-term schedule. The role of the Project manager also includes important project control, estimating, quality control and subcontractor coordination responsibilities. Attention to detail, follow-up and verbal communication skills are critical.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Communicate and follow-up with subcontractors to confirm scheduling, materials ready, crews ready to ensure projects stay on or ahead of schedule.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Audit project costs and expenses to ensure accurate budget tracking.
  • Coordinate client vendors as needed for project success.
  • Prepare change orders as needed for changes in scope.
  • Update construction trackers for company reporting.
  • Confirm project P&Ls for final reconciliation.
  • Drive expeditious closeout activities.
  • Oversee client billing and coordinate subcontractor invoicing.
  • Job site visits are required and may involve night and weekend work.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Prepare RFP proposals and cost estimates.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by company management.
  • Drive overall construction service line growth and expand client base.

Experience, Qualifications & Qualities:

  • 5+ years of experience in retail construction preferred.
  • Experience with retail bank construction a plus.
  • Very good educational background, preferably in the fields of commercial construction, project management or engineering.
  • Proven working experience in project management in the retail / commercial construction sector.
  • Construction experience in a supervisory capacity is a must.
  • Have knowledge in cost control, field engineering, scheduling, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints and drawings.
  • Experience with coordinating RFPs and subcontractor coordination.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Microsoft Project experience is required.
