Job Opening: Resource Development Coordinator for Balkan Region (USA-based)
Location: Remote (USA-based)
Department: Global Engagement
Position Type: Part-time (20-25 hours/week), Support-raising position
Travel Required: 4-6 domestic trips annually

Active in over 100 nations, Youth for Christ focuses on youth evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and social involvement. All staff members are missionaries aligned with our statement of faith and actively engaged in spiritual development.
Position Summary
The Resource Development Coordinator for Balkan Region plays a critical role in advancing the ministry of Youth for Christ in the Balkan Region (North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, and beyond). Based in the U.S., this individual will serve as a strategic fundraiser and advocate, cultivating donor relationships and representing the needs and impact of Balkan ministries.
This position empowers local teams by alleviating their fundraising burden-freeing them to focus more fully on ministry and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain donor relationships across the U.S.
  • Secure 30-40% of the annual budgets for Youth for Christ Balkan nations through individual, church, and foundation partnerships
  • Participate in donor meetings, calls, and events

Storytelling & Communication
  • Collaborate with Balkan ministry leaders to gather and share ministry updates, impact stories, prayer needs, and media content
  • Produce newsletters, donor updates, and prayer letters to communicate the ministry's work effectively in English

Strategic Partnership
  • Work closely with the Balkan Region Director and national leaders to align strategies and communications
  • Provide culturally sensitive guidance for English-language materials to increase U.S. donor engagement

Representation & Advocacy
  • Represent Youth for Christ Balkan Region at events, churches, and conferences in the U.S.
  • Advocate for ministry needs and raise awareness among Christian networks and support communities

Travel & Relationship Management
  • Travel domestically 4-6 times per year to meet with donors and participate in fundraising events
  • Attend Youth for Christ International, EMENA, and Balkan Region conferences (virtually or in person as needed)

Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of donor relationships and fundraising progress
  • Provide consistent updates to the Balkan Region Director and Director of Global Engagement

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Some college coursework or Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience
  • 1-5+ years in ministry, nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or missions mobilization
  • Experience with Youth for Christ or similar ministry a strong advantage
  • Familiarity or relational connection to Balkan cultures is a plus

Skills & Tools
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, word processing, email, and Zoom
  • Ability to manage multiple donor relationships and deadlines with professionalism and grace

Spiritual Responsibilities
As a missionary staff member with Youth for Christ International, you are expected to:
  • Pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Participate regularly in prayer, worship, and Bible study
  • Reflect a Christ-centered life in all aspects of ministry and communication
  • Actively raise 100% of your ministry funding (training and resources provided)
