JOB SUMMARY:

Looking for a Specialist, Nuclear Business Technology (Azure) to be part of an agile, innovative team focused on modern technologies and continual improvement. The role specializes in Microsoft Azure to contribute to the setup and operations of Nuclear Business Technology providing technical expertise related to cloud infrastructure, configuration management, and solution design, and contributes to documentation and knowledge standards. Operating as part of a DevOps team within Technology & Security, the position supports the setup, ongoing operation, and continuous improvement of modern, secure, and regulated technology environments. 
As a member of SaskPower's out of scope team, this position is responsible to act as a leader and central point of contact, providing expert advice and direction related to Azure services supporting business operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

   Plan, research, develop, evaluate, and implement processes, policies and procedures utilized for the strategies and initiatives related to Microsoft Azure infrastructure and configurations
   Act as a subject matter expert in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to develop, implement, and assist in IaC templates using Bicep and ARM templates.  
   Assist in the configuration, implementation and maintenance of Azure virtual devices 
   Automate Azure infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Azure Piplelines , Terraform and PowerShell scripting
   Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for automated deployments 
   Apply Azure Policy, RBAC and security best practices to ensure compliance and governance.
   Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure, deployments and configurations    
   Work with DevOps, security and architecture teams to define and maintain infrastructure 
   Maintain version control and manage infrastructure changes using Azure Git repositories in Azure DevOps
   Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency (FinOps), and reliability
   Document infrastructure configurations, standards and best practices
   Represent the department and prepare and present material to internal and external audiences as required
   Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to area of specialization and adapt them to SaskPower's operational environment
   Provide leadership and direction to project teams and/or assigned staff as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

   Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related equivalent AND/OR;
   Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) including Azure certifications AND/OR;
   Three (3) years of related Azure experience, preferably in deployment of Azure resources, expertise in Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline automation and infrastructure as code (IaC)
   Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration 
   Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Virtual Networks, Storage, Compute and Identity Management
   Experience in implementing Azure policies, RBAC and security controls
   Experience with Git repositories and version control strategies in Azure DevOps
   Experience in developing and design of highly secure IT solutions (regulated environment experience would be an asset)
   Knowledge of networking principles and security best practices
   Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
   Innovative and results oriented thinker, with the ability to lead and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
   Experience with establishing and maintaining standards such as: reference models, process models, architecture frameworks and methods
   Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills
   Excellent oral and written communication skills
   Ability to work and adapt in a changing environment
   Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation, and teamwork
   Demonstrated skill in SaskPower's competencies
   Must have a continuing record of professional development
