An At Home PRN RN is a registered nurse who provides nursing care to patients in their homes on a 'PRN' (pro re nata, or as needed) basis. This role typically involves visiting patients to perform assessments, administer medications, wound care, and coordinate care plans based on individual needs. PRN nurses have flexible schedules and may cover shifts or cases as needed, rather than working full-time or on a set schedule. Excellent communication, autonomy, and time management are standout soft skills for this role. These skills ensure safe, effective patient care and smooth coordination while working independently in a home health environment.
