Job description

One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Logistics Specialist to work on a 6-month assignment in their facilities in Houston, TX.
Summary:
The Logistics Specialist provides strategic and operational logistics support for global exploration drilling campaigns for SCM Wells Exploration Team. Responsible for logistics planning, contracting, asset and materials management, and ensuring safe, reliable, and costeffective execution across marine, aviation, shorebase, and land transport operations. Works closely with internal stakeholders, service providers, and multicompany partners to support execution, assurance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain logistics plans to support global exploration well campaigns.
  • Provide logistics input to project planning, risk assessments, and execution strategies in alignment with Company's procedures.
  • Contract, manage, and oversee logistics service providers (shorebase, marine, aviation, and land transport).
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Manage materials and inventory, ensuring availability, traceability, and proper handling throughout the supply chain.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to optimize storage capacity and minimize operational delays.
  • Support assurance activities, including peer reviews, audits, and implementation of best practices.
  • Act as a focal point for logistics coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners, including IOCs and NOCs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline or relevant experience
  • Managing and overseeing logistics - providers (shorebase, marine, aviation, and land transport).
  • Experience in logistics operations within oil & gas, energy, or offshore environments.
  • Proven capability in logistics planning, contractor management, and materials management.
  • Working knowledge of marine, aviation, and land transportation logistics.

  • Worked in the oil and gas industry - exploration

  • Experience working with international suppliers and multi company project teams.
