Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Operator to join our team. The CAD Operator will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or project managers. This role requires precision, strong technical ability, and the capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software
  • Interpret technical sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards and industry regulations
  • Maintain organized electronic drawing files and revision histories
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams
  • Assist with design modifications and problem-solving during project development
  • Perform quality checks on drawings prior to release
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the design process

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of CAD experience in a manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in [industry-specific area, e.g., marine manufacturing, industrial fabrication, architectural design]
  • Knowledge of BOM creation and document control systems
  • Familiarity with ERP or production management software

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with occasional production floor interaction
  • May require extended periods of computer work
