ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a talent for providing high-touch service in a serene, waterfront setting? Woodmont Real Estate Services is seeking a dynamic Assistant Property Manager to join the team at Waterโ€™s Edge, our premier 158-unit apartment community in the heart of Foster City.

Waterโ€™s Edge offers a truly unique living experience, where modern luxury meets the tranquil beauty of the lagoon. With resort-style amenities, including a waterfront swimming pool, a private boat dock, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, this community is designed for those who appreciate an active yet peaceful lifestyle. In this vital role, you will partner with the Property Manager to oversee the financial and operational health of the asset, ensuring every resident experiences the "vacation-at-home" atmosphere that defines Waterโ€™s Edge. This is a full-time role with an expected shift for this position of Tuesday โ€“ Saturday from 9:00am - 6:00pm.

With properties spanning multiple submarkets in the Bay Area, this is your opportunity to make a direct impact and build your career with an established leader in the Bay Area Property Management space.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO

  • Support leasing performance by responding to leads, touring prospects, and driving applications with consistent follow-up.
  • Deliver exceptional resident service by resolving questions, supporting renewals, and ensuring timely communication.
  • Prepare and process applications, leases, renewals, and move-in/move-out documentation with accuracy and urgency.
  • Maintain clean, compliant resident files and ensure all activity is documented correctly in RealPage.
  • Track and manage lead activity and follow-up workflows in Knock (calls, emails, tours, next steps).
  • Support invoice coding and bill pay processing through AvidXchange, ensuring timely routing and accuracy.
  • Assist with operational reporting, resident account support, and administrative tasks as directed by the Property Manager.
  • Coordinate with vendors and onsite teams to help ensure the community is tour-ready and operations run smoothly.
  • Provide leadership support and onsite coverage when the Property Manager is offsite or unavailable.

WHAT WEโ€™RE LOOOKING FOR

  • Financial Stewardship: Assist in managing the propertyโ€™s financial performance, including rent collection, processing payables, and managing delinquency with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

  • Elevated Resident Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for our residents, providing helpful and diplomatic service to maintain high satisfaction and retention in this close-knit waterfront community.

  • Operational Support: Maintain meticulous resident files and ensure all leasing data is accurately recorded in RealPage, adhering to company policies and Fair Housing laws.

  • Community Excellence: Oversee the daily upkeep of our premium amenities and waterfront spaces, ensuring the propertyโ€™s "pristine" standards are met consistently.

  • Marketing & Leasing Collaboration: Support the leasing team in driving occupancy through creative outreach and a "service-first" approach to prospective residents.

  • Technical Affinity: Confidence using Property Management technology, Customer Relationship Management and Bill Pay tools; RealPage, Knock, and AvidXchange experience strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Experience

  • Two (2)+ years of experience in market-rate multifamily housing, including at least 2 years as a Leasing Consultant and/or Assistant Manager (or similar).
  • Supervisory experience and skills in sales, marketing, management, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of tenant eviction, fair housing, and multifamily industry laws, including Federal and California labor laws.

Skills & Competencies

  • Language Ability: Strong oral and written communication skills. Professional interpersonal skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to direct staff, manage tasks, and solve problems with multiple variables. Capacity to analyze market and economic conditions affecting company and regional goals.
  • Computer Skills: Must have proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel). Ability to understand and create reports and documents. RealPage experience preferred, other property management software packages helpful.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic math, percentages, and financial forecasting.

Education & Licenses/Certifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration or similar field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation needed.

COMPENSATION

Woodmont Real Estate Services has detailed the expected hourly base rate for this role to be $26.00 - $28.00 hourly.

This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including bonuses, housing, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role, utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the time of offer, we use the signals we received from our interviews coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors to determine final compensation. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus (eligibility may vary based on role).
