To thrive as an Antenna Installer, you need a solid understanding of electrical systems, familiarity with technical schematics, and basic mechanical skills, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant certifications. Proficiency with hand and power tools, signal testers, and sometimes work-at-height safety certifications, like OSHA fall protection, are typically required. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help an installer deliver high-quality service and ensure customer satisfaction. These competencies are vital for safely installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting antenna systems while meeting client needs and industry standards.

Job description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The Amazon LEO Antenna Test Infrastructure team provides the test systems and techniques to verify Payload, CT and full satellite vehicle hardware, integrates the test automation and connects the dots between Responsible Engineers and their product's test metrics

The team is a pivotal point for a multitude of other teams and orgs, our internal customers. And it's highly multidisciplinary: SysDE, SDE, ME, Metrology, Robotics, Antenna, FPGA and Lab Ops all converge in the same room.
You will architect the HW/SW infrastructure for test automation for Satellite Payload Antennas and Customer Terminals. These products are complex systems that incorporate a Linux Embedded OS, with which you will interface

You will integrate that interface with our test equipment automation and our data collection pipelines, and grow our antenna chamber software repositories. You will conduct code reviews for your and others' merge requests. You will develop the test framework to create, track, update, change, and execute tests, to enable repeatable, discoverable tests, collects critical measurements, and simplify test verification.
Not only that

You will design new Radio Frequency (RF) and Over The Air (OTA) test systems for our antenna products, that can expand the test coverage, integrate more complex tests, tighten test accuracies. You'll capture those efforts in new test procedures, all this working hand in hand with the Responsible Engineers (RE) that own the antenna products and with our multidisciplinary team's help centered around Antenna testing.
You will be the *liaison* that will link Software Teams and external resources (test equipment vendors) with the RE's to establish and perform Aerospace validation and verification processes, integrating automated testing into Design Verification procedures (DVT), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), and Payload integration test.
Key job responsibilities
Design new antenna test systems using RF equipment (VSA, VSG, GNSS simulators, digitizers, switches), RF up/down-converters, FPGA-based Digitizers, and controllers of motorized and electrically switched axes.
Inspect the control hardware currently installed, and use that information to architect and design an acquisition system with TTL and TCP/IP controls
Determine automation requirements across the internal and external teams
Develop test frameworks for loading software builds and configuration, managing test cases, storing test configurations, executing test runs, logging metrics, and pipe the data.
Develop automation services to optimize measurements, data management and analysis for antenna and customer terminal verification
