Job description

The Patient Care Technician position on the G11 Hospital Internal Medicine Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
The department has both shifts available; 3/12 hour shifts, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotating weekends and holidays.
A 30-bed inpatient unit providing care to adult medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease related symptoms, pain control, treatment related side effects; chemotherapy and biotherapy administration: patient and family teaching.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $17.55 - Midpoint $21.88 - Maximum $26.20

EDUCATION
