POSITION SUMMARY:
The Market Access Manager will have a unique opportunity to help shape and expand market access strategy across Ambu's endoscopy, anesthesia, and patient monitoring portfolio. Leveraging a strong coding background, this role will partner closely with the HEOR and Market Access teams to provide coding, coverage, billing, and reimbursement guidance, while guiding efforts to identify reimbursement pathways where needed.
This individual will support commercial/sales trainings, and customer engagements while developing impactful field tools such as coding guidelines, value analysis dossiers, value stories, and one-pagers that strengthen conversations with providers and health systems. They will also help translate clinical and economic evidence into practical strategies that support market access and the adoption of innovative single-use technologies.
This is not a typical market access role, it is an opportunity for a proactive, relationship-driven professional to engage with medical societies, strategic partners, and key stakeholders to strengthen Ambu's position and support the adoption of single-use technologies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Answers technical reimbursement questions for internal and external stakeholders, including sales representatives as well as present to key accounts both in person and virtually as needed
  • Serve as the primary coding and reimbursement expert, providing rapid and authoritative guidance and training to sales and internal teams on product and procedure coding, billing, and reimbursement across multiple care settings
  • Build and cultivate influential relationships with key medical societies and strategic partners, using these collaborations to strengthen advocacy and position our products as preferred within the market
  • Monitor, review, and interpret proposed and newly enacted rules, regulations, coding updates and reimbursement and policy changes. Provide regular updates and clear guidance to team to ensure awareness, alignment and plans for action/response where needed
  • Conduct systematic analyses of the reimbursement potential for our products/solutions in order to inform strategic decision-
  • Collaborate with and support management of the Health Economics team as they lead Ambu's development of real-world evidence and health economics and outcomes research
  • Manage obtaining additional reimbursement for products through applications such as TPT and NTAP as well as gaining insights on strategy and pathways for commercial reimbursement for the future
  • Create value propositions and messaging based on peer reviewed publications related to the clinical and economic performance of Ambu
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with CMS, MedPAC and lobbying groups, patient and provider stakeholders, trade associations, and other strategic KOLs
  • Assist in presentation development for senior management team and internal and external stakeholders
  • Leads the development and execution of tools that educate the customer on reimbursement and market access areas . Support and develop marketing materials that help providers/payers recognize the value of Ambu products
  • Review and edit complex technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency, as well as support in publication writing and development
  • Assist in mentoring and managing junior members of the HEOR/HEMA team
  • Assist in training of sales team virtually and in person
  • Support Senior Director of HEOR and Marketing across initiatives in HEOR as needed
  • Be able to participate in calls and meeting with global team in Denmark as necessary (Central European Time)
  • Travel as needed (up to 35%)

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in coding/reimbursement & market access in the U.S (preferably in device and/or diagnostics).
  • Professional coding certification by a national organization (i.e., AAPC or AHIMA) preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of coding, coverage, billing, and reimbursement, inclusive of private, commercial and Medicare coverage, across different settings of care
  • Medical device industry experience is strongly preferred (a thorough understanding of how devices are billed and reimbursed is acceptable in lieu of experience)
  • In-depth understanding of payers and their value drivers in major markets as well as trends in pricing & reimbursement
  • Experience with endoscopy and/or new/disruptive technologies and reimbursement for such (preferred)
  • Knowledge of various advocacy groups (e.g., Medicare MACS, Hospital GPO's, Health Systems)
  • Knowledge of medical societies and how the function
  • Experience collaborating and working with payers, existing relationships preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Sales and Marketing to promote product growth
  • Strong clinical focus, business acumen, and ability to develop and build upon existing relationships
