Job description

BroadStreet Publishing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Team Member to support the distribution of our published books. This role is essential to ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, especially during high-volume periods and new release cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping

  • Pick, pack, and prepare book orders for shipment
  • Ensure accuracy of all shipments, including correct titles, quantities, labeling, and packaging
  • Process shipments using carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, freight, and Amazon routing when applicable)
  • Prepare and palletize large orders in accordance with retailer and distributor requirements
  • Consistently meet daily shipping deadlines, especially during busy release periods

Receiving

  • Receive incoming book inventory from printers and vendors
  • Verify quantities and inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies
  • Accurately enter received inventory into the system (Microsoft Business Central)
  • Assist with organizing inventory in designated warehouse locations
  • Assist with unloading trucks and staging incoming product

 Inventory & Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain accurate inventory across a high number of SKUs
  • Assist with cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits
  • Replenish pick locations and assist with organizing overstock inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment
  • Follow established processes and safety procedures consistently
  • Forklift / Turret Truck experience preferred, but will train

 Team Contribution

  • Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to keep operations running smoothly
  • Be willing to step in where needed, especially during high-volume periods
  • Communicate clearly and take ownership of assigned tasks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or order fulfillment experience preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume environment is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to follow established processes and work independently
  • Reliable attendance and a consistent work ethic are essential for success in this role
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute where needed
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office products, Business Central preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive motion
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours of Operation M-F, 6AM - 4PM.  Occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed
  • Wages dependent on experience, $18/HR minimum
