Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Application Architect to help drive the architecture and strategy of a Customer Master Data Management (MDM) application within the banking domain. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, scalability, and alignment of customer data systems across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a strategic mindset to drive architectural decisions that support business goals and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Strategy

  • Design and maintain the Customer MDM Application Roadmap, including goals, patterns, and technologies.
  • Develop and deliver Architecture Products such as Solution Approaches, Recommendations, and Technical Roadmaps tailored to banking data needs.
  • Align application architecture with Enterprise Architecture and regulatory standards
  • Provide high-level estimates for solution efforts and integration complexity.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a technical expert on customer data architecture, including logical and physical data modeling, SQL optimization, and data stewardship practices.
  • Guide development teams on API design, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns for customer data across banking applications.
  • Collaborate with other architects to ensure cross-application data consistency and master data governance.

Communication & Documentation

  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, leadership, and technical teams, translating complex data architecture into actionable insights.
  • Document and organize technical components including Tech Debt, Scorecards, Component Catalogs, System Contexts, and App-to-App Integrations.
  • Maintain and promote standard templates for architectural documentation and customer data flows.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate technical teams to resolve blockers related to customer data integration and quality.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to developers and analysts working on Customer MDM-related initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure data accuracy, lineage, and accessibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience as technical lead in API design, event-driven systems, and data frameworks.
  • 3 years of experience with SQL, data modeling, data governance, and integration architecture.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership experience in organizing teams and driving architectural decisions.

Optimal Additional Skills:

  • Experience in Customer Master Data Management
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • Experience with modernizing legacy mainframe applications.

  • Building architecture approaches for banking customer data projects.
  • Communicating known data issues and resolution plans to leadership.

Compensation Range:

70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
