Job description

Job Title: Product Development Technician

Location: Cheswick, PA 15024

Duration: 24 Months Contract (Potential temp to perm)

Pay Rate: $25/hr.

Shift Time: 1st shift, M-F


Job Description:

Responsible for benchmark testing primer, topcoat and clearcoat formulations. This position reports to the Industrial Technical Manager but will also take direction from other individual contributors on the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Test liquid and dry film coatings for properties per established test specifications
  • Organize data, document and provide timely feedback
  • Weigh and mix solid and liquid materials
  • Apply coatings onto substrate by established methods
  • Follow site safety protocols and maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Execution of safe work practices
  • Work closely with the field and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet customer requirements while meeting targets for efficient and cost-effective processing.


Education and experience

  • Associate Technical Degree or Certification, previous technical experience or demonstration of standard lab practices
  • 0 - 3 years of lab or field experience
  • Coatings formulation, application and testing experience in waterborne and solvent borne alkyd, epoxy, urethane and other resin systems is preferred


Skills and knowledge

  • Ability to take direction from senior associates
  • Ability to execute experimentation with a high level of attention to detail to meet on-time, in full output with shifting demand.
