Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with BAS platforms such as Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls FX. This role involves the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of BAS equipment to optimize the performance and efficiency of building systems. As a BAS Controls Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that building systems run smoothly, energy-efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and integrate BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and related equipment.
  • Ensure the seamless interoperability of new and existing systems, delivering high-quality, reliable solutions to clients.
  • Develop and modify control sequences for BAS systems using industry-standard programming platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls FX.
  • Commission BAS systems by performing thorough point-to-point testing and system optimization to verify functionality and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve a variety of system issues, including hardware, software, and network-related problems.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to extend the life of BAS components and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Apply updates, upgrades, and patches to maintain system stability and security.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, understanding client needs and providing technical solutions that meet those needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to end-users, ensuring they can effectively operate and manage BAS systems.
  • Offer expert troubleshooting and advice in response to client inquiries, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for all BAS systems, including system schematics, programming changes, service logs, and preventive maintenance records.
  • Provide clear and timely reports on system performance, project status, and any service outcomes to clients and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, controls, electronics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with BAS or process automation systems.
  • Proficiency with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls FX, or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
