CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a separate but related nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Virginia, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits.

DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:

The Elections Department oversees elections, nonpartisan voter accountability advocacy, and voter registration across our four states. The department is tasked with developing and implementing voter engagement strategies in partnership with all departments to build long-term electoral power in the working-class: Black, Latino/a/e, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant communities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

CASAย is seeking a Voter Registration Manager - Temporary Staff to lead voter engagement efforts, primarily providing education to increase voter participation among working families and immigrant communities. Reporting to the Voter Engagement Deputy Director, the ideal candidate is passionate about engaging registered voters and eligible community members in exercising their civic rights.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Temporary Voter Registration Manager, based in Georgia and reporting to the Voter Engagement Deputy Director, is responsible for the following:

  • Implement Field Operation Plans:ย Meet with Voter Engagement Deputy Director, to discuss daily field operations plans that meet daily program metrics and team-building goals. Prepare all canvassing equipment and supplies prior to launch. Lead all launch and debrief meetings with the assigned canvass team. Stay updated on election cycle news and program changes to disseminate information to your team
  • Team Supervision:ย Lead implementation of daily work for assigned canvass team and monitor on-field progress to goals, including site base voter registration conversation rates. Ensure your team, at all times, has the equipment and supplies needed to complete their work. Coach team, while in the field, on voter engagement best practices and voter registration issues talking points. Provide additional feedback and on-field training to improve the performance of underachieving team members. Respond to all on-field emergency and non-emergency incidents that may occur and report immediately to the Deputy Voter Engagement Director.
  • Community Engagement:ย Conduct daily voter contact work; persuade and mobilize voters to register to vote and inform them of the voting process. Enter and report conversation data accurately and in a timely manner. Stay well-informed of the latest electoral news and campaign talking points, including issues impacting communities.
  • Team Building and Daily Reports:ย Actively participate in daily canvass launches and debriefs; share key findings from voter conversations with team members. Provide feedback on voter conversation best practices and script guidance after voter interactions, to help teams achieve highest quality engagements with target voters. Complete qualitative field reports to capture voter details that benefit our campaign efforts.ย 
  • Administrative Responsibilities:ย 
    1. Record-Keeping:ย Maintain accurate records of voter engagement activities, including voter contacts, conversations, and outcomes. This may involve data entry into relevant databases or software systems.
    2. Documentation:ย Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as voter registration forms or campaign materials, is organized and up-to-date.
    3. Correspondence:ย Handle emails, phone calls, and other communications related to voter registration initiatives, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries from community members or stakeholders.
    4. Supply Management:ย Monitor and replenish campaign supplies, such as canvassing materials, literature, and promotional items, ensuring that canvassers have everything they need for their outreach efforts.
    5. Scheduling:ย Coordinate schedules for canvassing activities, meetings, and other campaign events, taking into account factors like availability of staff, target locations, and community events.
    6. Reporting:ย Prepare regular reports on voter engagement activities, summarizing key metrics, trends, and insights gleaned from canvassing efforts. These reports may be shared with internal stakeholders or used to inform strategic decision-making.
    7. Training Support:ย Help organize and facilitate training sessions for canvassers, providing logistical support and ensuring that training materials are readily available.
    8. Documentation Compliance:ย Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines governing voter registration activities, maintaining documentation as required by law.
    9. Coordination:ย Collaborate with other team members and departments within CASA to align voter registration initiatives with broader organizational goals and priorities.
    10. Payroll:ย Completing staff payroll accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Additional Tasks:ย Verify functionality of all assigned canvassing equipment as work day begins and be prepared with all needed campaign supplies, including CASA T-shirt, canvasser bag, and campaign literature. Recruit voters to participate in volunteer canvass activities and campaign events. Collect media content while engaging with voters to share with Communications staff and lift up voices of impacted voters. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION: $1200/week
