Position Summary
The Sound and Vibrations Lab, directed by Prof. Mostafa Nouh at the University at Buffalo - SUNY, is seeking one or more Postdoctoral Associate researchers in the areas of phononics, acoustic and elastic metamaterials, mechanical intelligence, and thermoacoustic energy management.
The successful Postdoctoral Associate candidate will:
  • Perform research surrounding theoretical, computational and experimental aspects of the project.
  • Provide timely data dissemination.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future direction of the project.

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in acoustics, elastic wave theory (e.g., dispersion, beaming, structural dynamics, etc.) and numerical finite element simulations. Relevant experimental expertise is highly desirable but not strictly required. As such, candidates who can demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and some degree of independence will be strongly considered. The candidate will be mentored by the PI and will have the support and resources of the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars.
