Commercial/Retail Construction Senior Project Manager

A Grafton, Illinois based general contractor is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical understanding, and proven experience managing commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout—and who values collaboration, precision, and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of project execution from pre-construction through closeout
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, and risk
  • Lead coordination between field operations, subcontractors, design teams, and ownership
  • Conduct weekly project meetings and maintain clear documentation and communication
  • Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and progress billings
  • Ensure strict adherence to jobsite safety, quality standards, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and engineering teams to drive value and constructability

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management
  • Demonstrated success managing large scale complex projects
  • Proven ability to lead large subcontractor teams and deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Strong working knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and contract management
  • Strong knowledge of contracts and subcontract management and enforcement
  • OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain
  • Background in design-build general contracting
