Accounts Payable Specialist
$25-$27 per hour
Nashville Tennessee
Hybrid work schedule โ€“ 2 days in office
Temporary โ€“ possible to hire
Awesome opportunity for aย detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialistย to join this finance team. This role will focus on supportingย accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and resolving outstanding vendor issues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a customer service mindset, and a drive for process improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely withย vendors, Purchasing, and Receiving teamsย to resolve outstanding accounts payable issues.
  • Process invoices inย Oracleย to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes.
  • Identify and implementย process improvement opportunitiesย within accounts payable.
  • Monitor, track, and report on accounts payable issues, providing status updates as needed.
  • Assist withย payment processing, reconciliations, SOX testing, reporting, and vendor maintenanceย as required.
  • Document and refineย accounts payable processesย to improve efficiency and compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Supportย ad hoc reportingย and special projects for senior management.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experienceย in accounts payable or a related field.
  • Proficiency inย Microsoft Office, very strong Excel skills a must.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical skills toย identify issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
Preferred/a plus not a must:
  • Experience working withย ERP systems, especially Oracle.
  • Background in aย Shared Service Environmentย is a plus.
  • Knowledge ofย accounting principlesย and best practices in accounts payable.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus.
