In the role of Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the Facilities Manager in maintaining all equipment and facilities associated with the Academy Mapleton Hill Community (AMH).

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and scheduled maintenance on equipment and facilities
  • Works with a team of maintenance staff to complete projects and tasks
  • Identifies and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs
  • Follows established preventative maintenance procedures
  • Keeps accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Communicates with supervisor and other staff regarding equipment status and malfunctions
  • Assists with the installation and set-up of new equipment
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Attends training sessions to stay current on new equipment and maintenance techniques
  • Monitors and controls inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Maintains tools and equipment in proper working condition
  • Performs routine inspections of equipment and identifies potential issues
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operation of facility
  • Keeps up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to improve maintenance processes

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and machinery
  • Possess a valid driving license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, and occasional holidays, as required
  • Ability to work on call and be available for emergency repairs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, a plus
  • Honesty, integrity, sense of humor, and pleasant demeanor - ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Empathy toward the elderly and to geriatric issues and challenges

Education and Experience

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a related field, a plus
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), a plus
