Respiratory Therapist – Nights – Skilled Nursing/Rehab – Broadview Heights, OH (Urgent Need)

Role overview

Respiratory Therapist is needed for an urgent‑need, full‑time night‑shift contract at a skilled nursing/rehab setting in Broadview Heights, OH, supporting residents with cardiopulmonary needs. This 13‑week, 7p–7a assignment includes broad schedule availability across all days of the week.

Assignment details
  • Location: Skilled nursing/rehab environment, Broadview Heights, OH 44147

  • Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / post‑acute rehab with medically complex adult and geriatric patients.

  • Position type: Contract, full-time, non‑permanent

  • Contract length: 13 weeks (02/23/26 – 05/23/26)

  • Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 30‑minute unpaid meal break

  • Days: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat (facility can schedule any nights as needed)

  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week

Key responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, oxygenation, ventilatory status, and response to therapy.

  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and other ordered respiratory treatments.​

  • Manage and monitor non‑invasive and invasive ventilation equipment where applicable, including setup, troubleshooting, and weaning in accordance with facility scope.

  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Educate staff, patients, and caregivers on respiratory disease management, equipment use, and medication regimens, often as the sole RT on‑site in SNF.​

  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the EMR.​

  • Participate in rounds and respond to urgent respiratory situations and rapid changes in patient condition on night shift.

Required qualifications and skills
  • Active Ohio Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT per facility requirement).​

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.​

  • Current BLS; ACLS preferred depending on facility policy.

  • Prior experience with adult/geriatric acute or post‑acute respiratory care (hospital or SNF/LTAC).

  • Comfortable practicing independently overnight, with strong critical‑thinking and triage skills.​
