You also work with your client or employer to develop secure applications and software for accessing the cloud. Your responsibilities include establishing procedures for user access to the system, setting access controls and administrative practices, and you may even educate other workers about secure usage of the company’s cloud computing service.

How to Become a Cloud Security Architect

The qualifications needed to become a cloud security architect include a computer-related degree or equivalent experience, an understanding of cloud computing systems and enterprise security, and professional certification. You start on this career path by earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering. Some employers prefer applicants with bachelor’s or master’s degrees in cybersecurity. You can focus your skills on a specific cloud computing service by earning professional certification. Amazon Web Services (AWS), for example, offers accreditation as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Security Specialist.
