Educational qualifications for an auto glass technician career include a high school diploma and a certificate in auto glass repair and installation. Employers may not require certification and may offer apprenticeships, assistant positions, or on-the-job training for new employees. However, certification is available from trade schools and through professional organizations such as the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA), and it can increase your employment prospects. Accord to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, training and certification can take between six months and one year.
